Participation

Participation is a training module designed to give foster carers strategies to enhance the participation of children and young people in decision making.

It is a module of the Real kids, real carers education resource developed by the Association of Children's Welfare Agencies (ACWA) and can be downloaded free-of-charge from that website.

Information for trainers

This training module may be conducted either one-on-one or in a small group.

  • Within each module there are instructions for the trainer about how to conduct the training. The remaining pages are handouts and should be copied and distributed to participants.

  • In order to assess that each participant has completed the training to a satisfactory standard, the trainer or other approved support worker should consult the learning outcomes identified within the module booklet.
