The commitment of key decision-makers is critical to achieving gender parity. Without it, gender parity will not occur and the benefits will not be realised.
Put simply, decision-makers have the power to change the status quo. To achieve change in Queensland, more decision-makers need to step up and change the game by advocating for the value of gender parity and challenging the status quo. By serving as a visible champion of gender parity, decision-makers set the tone for broader cultural change.
The 4A’s Framework has been designed to help decision-makers become agents of change. There is a focus on individual role modelling (focussing on mindsets and behaviours) as well as influencing and holding others accountable. Together, these can be thought of in terms of Alignment, Articulation, Action and Accountability.
Use the Maturity Index Tool Maturity Index Tool , based on the four A's framework, to assess your current position and then look towards developing an Action Plan. When action planning, think about this in terms of actions for Self, Team, Board, and Industry which collectively will help Queensland boards to become agents of change.
Using the framework of Alignment, Articulation, Action and Accountability, the decision-maker action plan contains twelve powerful actions that individuals can take to help change the status quo.
Having a critical mass of key decision-makers undertake these steps will have a demonstrable impact on the achievement of gender parity targets, and promote diversity and inclusion across Queensland, government, business and community organisations more broadly.
